Co-funded by the European Union, the British Government, and UNDP, FUNGUO is breaking down barriers in Tanza- nia’s innovation ecosystem. From funding to mentorship, we’re giving startups and small businesses the tools they need to grow, thrive, and make a lasting impact.
Our approach is all about creating ripple effects. By investing in innovative ventures, we’re not just supporting busi- nesses we’re generating jobs, especially for women and youth, boosting incomes, and transforming livelihoods. Through initiatives like #YouthIgniteProject, funded by the UK Government’s FCDO, we’re also investing in student entrepreneurs. These young visionaries are taking bold steps, proving that the next generation has what it takes to lead Tanzania into the future.

Funguo
FUNGUO is jointly funded by the European Union, the British High Commission, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It is implemented by UNDP Tanzania in partnership with UNCDF and works closely with the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology, COSTECH. The European Union’s support of FUNGUO is part of the “Business Environment, Growth and Innovation” (BEGIN) Programme which is coordinated by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade.
