The Second Call for Funding, launched by FUNGUO in May 2023, built on the momentum of its first funding round, injecting an additional TZS 1.2 billion into its catalytic funding pool. This brought FUNGUO’s total funding commitment to TZS 3.8 billion, fully funded by the European Union. The call attracted a diverse range of applicants, with 45% representing women-led or women-founded businesses. These ventures spanned critical sectors such as agriculture, energy, fisheries, healthcare, education, and technology-driven solutions, further advancing FUNGUO’s mission to support innovative startups and SMEs driving societal and economic transformation in Tanzania.
