ICT Professional Registration Launched

The ultimate aim of FUNGUO is to increase the number of successfully scaled innovation ventures/ startups to contribute to the national development goals and the SDGs in Tanzania.

The 4th Tanzania Annual ICT Conference this year witnessed the launch of the ICT Professional Registration during the official opening of the conference at Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre (JNICC) on 7th October 2020 in Dar es Salaam. The launch of the Registration of ICT Professionals was done by the Minister for Works, Transport and Communications Hon. Eng. Isack Aloyce Kamwele along with handing over registration certificates to 100 professionals who specialize in various areas.

HDIF for another round had sponsored the 4th Tanzania Annual ICT Conference 2020 (TAIC-2020) organized by the ICT Commission (ICTC). HDIF grantees including DOT, had an opportunity to have a session and give a presentation on ‘Digital Transformation; Challenges and Opportunities for Youth’ Together with OMDTz whom their session was about ‘Digital Innovation’. HDIF Social Innovation Advisor was a moderator to this session.

Apart from having an opportunity to speak in the conference, also HDIF had a booth for exhibition where grantees Shule Direct and DOT were invited to display their innovation and talk to visitors about their work.

TAIC-2020, aims at bringing together stakeholders including academia, researchers, development partners, business industry, youth in digital innovation spaces and practitioners in the ICT Industry to discuss about career path development, digital economy development and sector contribution to the national economy. TAIC-2020’s theme considers the current practices, challenges and opportunities towards the fourth industrial revolution (4IR)
